Crysis Wars (Tweaked) on Sony Vaio F Laptop
I fiddled with some of the settings some more to try and improve boost performance in Crysis some more, and here are the results. The FPS with fraps is view-able in the video (about 17-28 fps). Without fraps, it runs between 29-45 fps. The gained performance comes at the loss of a bit of visual quality though. SSAO is now turned off, and the shader/postprocess effects are turned down as well. Shadow resolution/update rate is lowered as well. I turned up the HDR to compensate for some of the reduction in detail, but I think I went a bit overboard…. Still, i think its a good combination of visual quality/performance. An average of ~30 fps @ 720p is quite good, I think, for a laptop.Played on the Sony Vaio F Laptop: Core i7 720QM (1.6ghz with turbo up to 2.8ghz) nvidia gt330m (1gb dedicated video mem) 4gb ddr3-1333 320gb hard drive (5200 rpm)

How to: Dual-boot XP and Vista on Sony Vaio VGN-N220E
EDIT (02-13-2009): PLEASE READ THIS NOW. IT HAS IMPORTANT INFORMATION! I thought I would inform/warn everybody who watches this video that it IS OUTDATED/INACCURATE. I am not sure if my dual-boot setup was done correctly; it DID work, I am just not sure if my setup was how it should have been. I have removed all previous links that were here before. I don’t want to just leave this inaccurate video on YouTube without providing some more accurate information, so I have compiled some resources below that will hopefully guide you in your process of dual-booting XP and Vista on a Sony Vaio VGN-N220E: uTorrent- utorrent.com .torrent file (for Vista Recovery Disc) neosmart.net (Scroll down and select “Windows Vista Recovery Disc x86 edition”) ImgBurn- www.imgburn.com (Select Mirror 7) EasyBCD- neosmart.net (Scroll down until you see the blue download button) Hottfix (for sound driver)- couponmeister.com Drivers- Some time after I had made this tutorial, Sony put many XP-compatible drivers for the VGN-N220E up on their website. You should use these instead of the ones that were up here previously (that I took down). Here is the link to those drivers: esupport.sony.com Correctly dual-booting- As I said earlier, I don’t think my dual-boot configuration was correct, so here is a link that will hopefully help you set up a correct dual-boot configuration: www.raymond.cc A quick note about the sound driver: I believe the video should still be correct on how to install the sound driver …
